“Food Tip” del giorno – Brown Sugar!
Brown sugar has a tendency to dry out quickly. Avoid losing all that sugary goodness by buying a terracotta clay dish to put in with the brown sugar to keep it from drying out. You can also put in a damp paper cloth, a slice of bread, or a slice of apple in with the brown sugar to keep it soft and fluffy. Don’t worry about the bread or apple going bad – the sugar actually preserves them, dries them out, and makes the edible.
I love baking with brown sugar because I believe the molasses adds a new depth of flavor to whatever recipe you’re making. I want to try this recipe for Brown Sugar Cookies form Phoo-d – they’re mixed with ground pecans to add an even better, nutty flavor!
