There’s a fun trick to reduce the cooking time for steel cut oats: the night before, boil 4-6 cups of water in a pot or saucepan. Stir in the oats and boil for one minute. Cover and let sit overnight. The next morning, all you’ll have to do is cook the oats for about 10 minutes on low heat and you’re good to go for breakfast!
