Kumquats can be candied in two ways—with a glass method and a soaking method, according to food and travel writer Katherine Martinelli. The glass method involves taking sliced kumquats, dipping them in simple syrup, and then baking them low and slow. The soaking method takes the same sliced kumquats and lets them sit in simple syrup, rendering them sweet and you with leftover kumquat syrup—an added bonus!
